Paul Wasserman, Treasurer 

Paul is a longtime educator and social activist.  He worked as an administrator and teacher at the Lehman College Adult Learning Center for 27 years, including 15 years (1996 -2011) as program Director.  Paul helped initiate the Bronx Health Literacy Collaborative (2005 – 08) and Lehman’s community garden – the Edible Garden. He served as the Lehman site coordinator for the Corbin Hill Food Project’s farm share (2013 – 16) and established and coordinated The Lehman Farm Stand with student interns (2016 – 2018). 

Prior to his time at Lehman, Paul worked as a New York City cab driver and rank and file labor organizer, was administrator of a Latin American cultural and solidarity center, a high school social studies teacher and a freelance writer and editor. Now retired, he continues to teach part-time and is involved in a number of social justice, food justice, immigrant support and solidarity economy projects. An urban food grower, Paul serves as co-president of his local community garden, 6/15 Green, in Brooklyn.
