Frequently Asked Questions

When do Bronx Eats classes meet and how can I register?

Classes meet at many Bronx locations and also online via Zoom. Join the mailing list to receive information and registration details on upcoming classes.

What if I have never cooked before?

That’s great! You will learn in a fun and safe environment.

How many participants attend each class?

Bronx Eats accepts 15-20 students per class which makes it a friendly and welcoming environment.

What kind of food will we be preparing?

Healthy vegetarian food made with fresh, local, and seasonal produce.

Why is Bronx Eats offering vegetarian cooking classes?

We need more fruits and vegetables in our diet and meat is an environmental problem.

“Industrial meat production is notoriously brutal to the animals and extravagantly wasteful of resources such as water, grain, as well as antibiotics; the industry is also one of the biggest contributors to water and air pollution. A 2006 report issued by the United Nations stated that the world’s livestock generate more greenhouse gases than the entire transportation industry.” —Michael Pollan

Can I bring a friend to class?

Yes, but each person needs to register for him/herself.

Will I get to bring home food?

If there is leftover food, participants are encouraged to take it home. It is a good idea to bring some reusable containers and bags to class for this purpose.

What happens if I register and then discover that I can’t make it to class?

That is fine but please make sure to cancel your registration or email us in advance. This allows your spot to be enjoyed by someone on the waitlist.

What if I know some place in the Bronx that may want to host Bronx Eats for a class or food demonstration?

We would love to hear from you! Contact us at info@bronxeats.org to make arrangements. Bronx Eats loves to partner, travel, and make new connections.
