John Frias

John Frias is a Bronx native with more than 10 years of international business experience. He is currently Program Manager for Ascend New York City led by the BOC Network and funded by JPMorgan Chase. Ascend New York City aims to close the opportunity gap by creating and sustaining good jobs in the Bronx. By connecting Bronx based businesses with local institutions, Ascend aims to help Fordham University, the Bronx Zoo, Montefiore Medical Center, and all three CUNYs in the borough diversify and localize their supply chains. 

John was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Fordham University, with a focus on international relations and political philosophy. Additionally, he was Senior Manager of Global Sales at one of South Korea’s most innovative for-profit education firms where he assisted in content development for an ed-tech platform, which services more than 200,000 students. 

John is dedicated to educating and mentoring students in the Bronx to become future business leaders. He is pleased to bring his experience with digital educational content and his strong connections in the business community to Bronx Eats.
