Meet The Team

 Arnalda Rojas, Program Assistant

Arnalda was born and raised in a small rural town called La Reyna in the Dominican Republic. She immigrated to New York at the age of 14. Arnalda earned an Associate Degree in Nutrition at Bronx Community College and earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Education and Promotion with a concentration in Nutrition at Lehman College.

Growing up surrounded by trees and animals, Arnalda developed a deep and lasting appreciation for nature. At the age of eight, she planted her first mango tree and still today (30 years later), her family is enjoying its fruit. Arnalda is passionate about food and its origins. She enjoys cooking and experimenting with new recipes. Additionally, she started out as a student-intern with Bronx Eats and became a program assistant for the organization once she completed her degree requirements. Working with Bronx Eats has helped her realize that together we can build a healthier Bronx.

“The opportunity to work together with other people who you do not know to create something larger than yourself is a rarity in today’s society. We don’t get to do that often enough.”
